Rain, rain go away!!

I have to admitt I have been so excited about setting up my display for the April extravaganza, at the Nashville flea market for weeks. I did not do the March show so I have been buying, collecting, building, and painting for a months. Finally the flea market weekend was here. In spite of the rain and gloomy weather forecast we had a beautiful day setting up and great day of selling on Friday. But as promised the clouds burst, and when I say burst I mean we had a flood. We definitely got our share of rain, but not to worry. Rain does not stop true flea market shoppers. After all, they know there won't be another show for another 4 weeks. They came with their umbrellas, and rain gear, and ready to buy. Sunday my booth was a shell of its self. I did, however, manage to get some pictures. So enjoy.

The love of a "small" porch.

My Little Porch

 

 l love outside area's. Everywhere I have lived, I have tried to whittle out a little space that resembles a nice cozy porch. My dream porch would be in the front of the house. A porch facing a sidewalk where all the neighbors walk their children and of coarse their dogs. A porch with a big swing, lots of ferns hanging from the rafters. A porch you could sleep on! Ok, ok, wake up. Back to the real world. I have always had back porches, but I always seem to fix them up and enjoy them. Our house here in Nashville has a "small, small" back porch or area. After seeing a lot of small porches on pinterest, I decided I wanted to get started on my area. Enjoy these Real Porches!!,

Road Trip!! and Friends....

Junkin with friends, is my favorite thing to do.

They inspire me, mentor me and keep me excited about what I do.

Sue(far left) has been in the business for years. Years before I met her. Carol ( far right)is Sue's dear friend. (like sister friends). I am so happy Sue shared Carol with me. She has impeccable taste. Sue and Carol both are fabulous entertainers and hostess, not to mention awesome cooks.  We all have a kinship with antiques, junk and home decor. Robin ( in the middle) is another one of us. (loves antiques, quilting, and junk) Sometimes I feel like we are home decor, junk, and antique addicts and I don't think there is a junkin trip we have been on that we did not fill the van. On this visit we ended up at Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta and it did not disappoint. I will be posting pictures of some of the things I brought home soon. For sure they will be on sale at the Nashville flea.

After missing a couple of months of the Nashville Flea Market, I was ready and excited about getting back to business. I wanted to change my back drop alittle. I decided I wanted to go with the worn pallet wall look. Anyone will tell you to never pay for a pallet but if you are a person like me and have to have instant gratification, you don't have time or patients to look for and collect "old" worn and torn pallets. You can find plenty of clean looking ones, but that's not what I wanted. So, we found a pallet manufacturer in Nashville. A world of pallets. New,used, and everything in between. The owner of this pallet world was so nice. I ask him if he knew that he had a product that was in great demand among the designer world. He did not. Anyhow he told me he had a pile of old boards already stripped from the frame. Great! Do you know how hard it is to get those things apart? Hard....so we drove away with 100 old worn and torn boards. What do you think?

February show was wonderful. Still alittle cool, but fun. I met alot of great people. I love seeing repeat customers like a wonderful lady named Linda. (Great name! Ha..) She said she follows my blog and I like to hear that too. Thanks again Linda, hope to see you in March.

I also met a really cute couple, ( I think mom and daughter and young lady) they purchased a great set of white chairs. Hope to see them again also. Spring will be peeking its head up soon, so March should bring alot of new things.

OK, OK, OK

Ok, it's been awhile since I have posted pictures on blog. Just do not know where the time goes. I don't know if it's me or is it getting harder and harder to find really good junk? I guess I do find it but usually it's been through the original owner, then through the middle man , on to the small dealer, then to the big dealer mall. By the time it get there I can't add one penny of profit to it. I need to be the owner, or the middle man, because I am the small flea market dealer. Anyhow, my driver and I did get out and search thru a couple of places and came up with a few things. It's amazing to me that after I buy it and get it home and put it all together it looks great. Can't wait to find more and get it set up at the flea market in February. Enjoy

Happy New Year!! 2013

Hey guy, it's a new year and hopefully a great year for all of us. We had a great holiday season and I am ready to get started on some new things. My goals this year is to make my business the best it can be. In my personal life I am determined to get my master bedroom decorated. I'm sure everyone knows about the web site Houzz. I was familiar with it but never realized that you could go on their site and see thousands of great room decorating ideas. I wanted to click on to check out a couple of bedroom ideas, not knowing that they had 53,000, yes, I said 53,00 bedrooms posted. I started surfing on Saturday nite and today, which is Monday, I am still looking at bedroom ideas. Houzz is more addicting than pinterest. Any how just wanted to post of few of my favorites for the month. No bedroom pictures yet but that will come. Enjoy the neutrals. You know me. Love those Neutrals!!
